DJALGALA
ABORIGINAL CULTURAL EDUCATION
“Djalgala” is the Dharawal word for embrace.
We strive for all people to embrace, acknowledge, and share the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
Delivered by a First Nations person, the Djalgala program is a fun and interactive cultural immersion experience.

- Promoting Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture and perspectives

Balancing play and structure to keep your children curious and engaged

~ The programs cater to children between the ages of 3 to 6
~ Classes are run weekly, during NSW School Terms
~ Each class is run for 30 minutes, at a time suitable to your service
~ Each chosen subject (Yoga & Mindfulness, Multi-Sport, Aboriginal Education and Dance) is run over a one term period
~ Classes are arranged by age to ensure safety and age-appropriate learning
~ Program ideas and follow up activities will be provided for educators to implement within their program
~ Further information on the benefits of the lessons at hand (including links to the EYLF and NQF) will be provided to families and educators on a weekly basis
~ A monthly group observation will be provided, written in an NQF approved format
~ All Kidz Empowered Co instructors are trained professionals with Public Liability Insurance, Working with Children Checks and First Aid Training Certificates

A lifelong passion for early childhood education breathed life into Kidz Empowered Co.
Combined with a unique, fresh approach, our program has been developed based on over 14 years of experience within the sector, from directing an early learning service to owning a family daycare.
Proud to be a First Nations Australian, we’ve also spent the last three years delivering Aboriginal art and cultural immersion programs with in-services in early learning services, primary and high schools.
This was completed alongside instructing Aboriginal cultural NESA teacher professional development courses for primary and secondary teachers throughout NSW.

Building upon our knowledge of the National Quality Standard Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework, we now dedicate our efforts to creating bespoke learning experiences for early learning services.
But perhaps most importantly, as a fellow parent, there’s a deep appreciation for extra-curricular activities that provide opportunities for children to thrive as they form and find their own identities within the world. Honing in on their bright-eyed curiosity and creativity, these are the stepping stones that will help them become the best version of themselves.
